TNA: Cross the Line?

We're having a cable outage in my area. I haven't had TV for 24 hours. This spared me the two hours that is TNA.

Well, without TV, I've been fairly bored. Curiosity got the best of me, so I pulled up the TNA site to look at last nights results.

Fairly standard TNA fare. Doesn't look like I missed a whole lot. The tired wrestling wedding fiasco (hasn't this gimmick been beaten to death yet?), Tomko stealing Bastista's 'I'm my own man' gimmick, the possible evolution of the Abyss character with a mask dropping (uhm, Kane rip-off, anyone?), NASCAR drivers... Blah. (When will TNA learn that they need to differentiate themselves from WWE, not repackage WWE gimmicks, or copy WWE's campaigns?)

Anyway... the real reason I'm writing this is the 'Cross the Line' video package on the home page. I'd not seen it before.

Okay, I get it. I don't need for different TNA wrestlers to repeat the same line 3-4 times. I'm not a complete dolt. TNA is asking WWE fans to 'Cross the Line'. I really only have one thought...

With the current quality of TNA, shouldn't the new slogan be, "TNA... take a step down"?

TNA Against All Odds

So last night was TNA's Against All Odds PPV. As I said in a previous entry, I wasn't going to buy this PPV, and I didn't. So, honestly, I don't have a whole lot to comment on, with the exception of...

Apparently the Abyss vs Judas Mesias did not happen in Greenville, but instead was taped at the iMPACT! Zone in Orlando and shown to the live audience on the screens. I mean, what kind of BS is this? Heh. If you knew, TNA, that the South Carolina Athletic Commission wasn't going to allow the match, then obviously you should have done the PPV somewhere else. Seriously, TNA continues to spiral into the depths of amateur hour.

What a load of crap.

So, until TNA bring up the quality (as The Rock would say, 'waaay up!'), I, and many others will continue not to support you. I am all for supporting the little company, but you need to get your act together first.

On a positive note, Rhino made his return last night

Video Game Preview: Midway's TNA iMPACT! Screenshots

Midway has released new screenies for the upcoming TNA iMPACT! video game. I must say, they look great. It appears a few of them are from Kurt Angle, Booker T and Scott Steiner's entrances. They look dead on. Photograph quality.

To date Midway has announced the inclusion of the following wrestlers from the TNA stable: Abyss, Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Christopher Daniels, Sonjay Dutt, Hernandez, Homicide, Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Rhino, Chris Sabin, Samoa Joe, Senshi, Alex Shelley, Scott Steiner, Sting, A.J. Styles & Eric Young. You also see Jeff Hardy in the image above. we'll have to wait and see if he'll be included in the final release. A complete roster will be available closer to the game's launch.

In addition to the more than 25 wrestlers, TNA iMPACT! will feature a create-a-wrestler (CAW) mode that allows the player to play their own wrestler in story mode.

The game is slated for release for 'Spring 08) for the Playstation 2, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and the Wii.
